wolves replied with a chuckle, "Well, you see, we are all just tiny specks in this vast universe. We're like ants on the surface of the earth, struggling to survive while being trampled by giants."
"Besides," they continued with a grin, "it's not about who gets what. It's about enjoying the ride and learning from each other."
This is how wolves view life - as an adventure full of lessons and laughter.
The lesson here is that even in death there can be life. Even in struggle there can be growth. And even in chaos there can be order.
In this way, both Lao Tzu and Zhuang Zhou show us that the Daoist philosophy is not just about living life but also laughing at it.
As they say: "When you understand everything then nothing is incomprehensible." And when you laugh at everything then nothing is unfunny.
So let us laugh at our fears and doubts; let us laugh at our triumphs and victories; let us laugh at ourselves for being so serious sometimes.
For laughter is not only medicine for the soul but also a bridge to understanding.
And understanding - or should I say laughing - at the absurdity of existence may just lead us to find true happiness.
